Beck - Sinfonia in G Minor - Op 1 No 1
Composer: Beck F.
Level: C
Description:

Franz Beck was born in Mannheim in 1734, and considered the most talented pupil of Johann Stamitz. He wrote 24 symphonies, through which he developed a taut, dramatic style, remarkable for its employment of bold harmonic progressions, flexible rhythms and highly independent part writing. The delightfully varied Op.1 symphonies were scored for string orchestra. The dynamics in this edition are editorial, as are the bowings. The PDF contains an embedded recording of the piece, separate parts for violin III (doubling that of the viola), and double bass. Click here to listen to a recording of the piece.
