Cesar Franck - Melancolie for Violin and Piano
César Franck’s hauntingly beautiful 'Mélancolie' for violin and piano, was first published after the composer’s death in 1911. This short piece is based on one of the composer's own solfège exercises and was written at the height of his creative powers, about the same time as his famous violin sonata.
