Description:
Actually the first movement of a Sinfonia in D Major, this delightful ‘Overture’ by Leopold Hofmann (1738 – 1793) acts as a fine introduction to compositional style of the so-called ‘Mannheim School’. The smaller notes, included for less experienced players, are entirely optional. The PDF contains a part for violin III, doubling that of the viola. Click here to listen to a recording of the piece.
